Cannon Beach

My mother visited from New York last month. We decided to take a short trip to Cannon Beach and stayed at the Surfsand Resort. Looking in the tide pools around Haystack Rock for marine life was a great time!

Camping at the Dunes

We visited the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area last weekend and camped at the Eel Creek Campgrounds. This area is really amazing because within just a few miles there is half a dozen lakes, the ocean, the dunes and the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park. If you go, be sure to stop by Umpqua Aquaculture in Winchester Bay and have some of their oysters!

Honeymoon in the Philippines

Hank and I spent two weeks in the Philippines for our honeymoon. We stayed in a water cottage at the El Nido Resorts, located in the Bacuit Archipelago, Palawan. The archipelago is made up of 40 islands that you can explore. Only a few are inhabited. The area is still unspoiled by tourism and because it was declared a National Marine Reserve by the government, hopefully it will stay that way. Kayaking around the islands to the nearby lagoons was an unforgettable experience.

Spain

I traveled to Spain this summer with my fiance and his family. We visited Madrid, Rioja and Santiago de Compostela. Spain is so rich in history, architecture and culture, it would be hard to say which region I enjoyed the most. Here are some photos of the interesting people and places we passed along the way.

Camping at Silver Falls

We broke in our new tent this weekend at Silver Falls State Park. Located in the Cascade Mountains, it is the largest State Park in Oregon. The Trail of Ten Falls is a beautiful 8 mile hike which takes you past 10 waterfalls, the tallest being South Falls at 177 feet.
